P&C Fencing + Static Computers: A Smoother-Running IT Operation for a NSW Commercial Fencing Business

Client: P&C Fencing (NSW, commercial fencing)

Engagement: Provider transition, managed IT services, network and infrastructure improvements

Outcome: A business that had no real visibility into its own IT now runs on a documented, monitored environment, with infrastructure sized for how the team actually works.

The starting point

P&C Fencing is a NSW commercial fencing business. Like most trades-based operations, the team’s IT runs in the background of a much more interesting job. The problem was that nobody could actually tell what was happening in that background.

When Static Computers first stepped in, the picture was uncomfortable. There was no real visibility into the environment. Nobody could say with confidence what was being backed up, what software was actually licensed, who had admin access to what, or which devices were healthy and which were a quiet liability. The previous arrangement was reactive, fix it when it breaks, with no monitoring, no documentation and no roadmap. That’s the kind of setup where the IT looks “fine” right up until the moment something fails.

How the engagement runs

The relationship started with a structured handover from the previous IT provider, captured in a written Handover Pack covering admin accounts, network details, backups, licence ownership and recovery procedures. Credentials changed hands through encrypted one-time links rather than email. For the first time, the business had a written record of how its own IT was put together.

From there, the relationship settled into a Managed Services Agreement covering day-to-day support, endpoint care, Microsoft 365 administration and the regular cadence of small improvements that keep IT calm.

Over the course of that relationship, a few larger pieces of project work have been planned and delivered alongside the day-to-day. A network upgrade, a structured security review, and a server storage upgrade have each been scoped, costed and scheduled around the team’s calendar, then delivered without disrupting the work day.

Where things stand now

The risk that used to sit under the surface is now visible, documented and managed. Backups are checked. Devices are monitored. Software is current. The network performs the way the business needs it to. For a fencing business focused on jobs, sites, suppliers and crews, the value is straightforward: a known monthly cost, a known response time, and a partner who already knows the environment when something needs attention.

“We have engaged Static Computers to look after our IT needs. We are a company of 24 employees, and we are very happy with the support we are receiving.”

James Mannah, Director, P&C Fencing
